A list of foods that will give you sun tanned skin just from eating them

pumpkins

Pumpkins will help you keep your tan topped up all year round they are basically great big orange balls of self tanner, with very high levels of carotenoids eating large amounts of pumpkin will have a positive effect on your skin colour giving you a lovely sun tan like glow. Its also very nutritious Pumpkins contain vitamins like Vitamin A, B-6, B-2, Vitamin E and Vitamin C providing all sorts of health benefits.

Carrots can change your skin colour if you eat enough they are also packed full of vitamin A which prevents sun damage just 1 carrot has around 200% of your recommended daily allowance of vitamin A, but its the carotenoids that provide the change in your skin colour. Try to have at least 1 whole carrot per day to start noticing the skin glow but don't overboil your carrots you will reduce the carrots effectiveness, you want to have a little bit of crunch to your carrots if you want to make sure you get your sun tan skin colour from your carrots.

Sweet potatoes

sweet potatoes can be used in hundreds of recipes so this is a great vegetable to help you get the sun tan skin tone you very easily. As well as been high in potassium sweet potatoes are also high in B6 and most importantly for sun tans they are super high in carotenoids which are the magic things that give you the tanning effect on your skin. 

Peaches

Peaches as well as being a delicious juicy treat these little beauties can also help you get the tanned glowing skin you desire, high in vitamins and potassium but again if your aiming for the tanned skin tone its those carotenoids you need and peaches have them in abundance. So if you don't already include peaches in your diet its in your best interest to swap your usual snacks for peaches for that glowing tanned skin.

Red Peppers

Red bell peppers will help you get the sun tan skin tone as well as provide you with a load of extra vitamins and nutrients, red peppers are packed with carotenoids to provide the darker skin tone you want but they are great sources of vitamins A and C too. The best thing about red peppers is you can include them with so many meals you are not going to struggle to get them into your diet and you will be on your way to the perfect skin colour in no time.

Tomatoes

Tomatoes are next on the list of foods that give you a sun tan, just like carrots these juicy red fruits are full of carotenoids to give your skin the perfect glow when consumed in large amounts. The riper the better and the redder the better, don't settle for those cheap salad tomatoes you want to go for the tomatoes which are sold still on the vine or some of the sweet varieties off the vine.

Spinach and kale 

Spinach and Kale contain iron, potassium, vitamin E, magnesium and lots of vitamin C among other beneficial vitamins and nutrients but as well as all these great things they provide us with they also give us the sun kissed skin glow we all want all year round. Also worth noting these pair of super foods also contain vitamin K, phosphorus, thiamine and plenty of fiber too so plenty of reasons to include these two top superfoods into your diet.

Butternut squash

Butternut squash is another food that will give you a sun tan, if you have never tried butternut squash they are absolutely delicious but that's not why we are the reason its on the foods that give you a tan list is because they are super rich in beta-carotenes. Just 200 grams per day will start to give you a natural sun tan from eating in just a few weeks, it will be gradual but worth the effort in the long run you will get an all year round tan and glowing skin.
